late night snack vol 1

When I worked at Whole Foods, every Friday I’d send an email highlighting all our social wins—plus anything happening online that got us excited. People loved that email. I like to think it’s because I made them fun with my wit and humor. And sometimes, when I’m alone, I find myself missing writing those emails—the structure of it, the ritual, the simple joy of putting it all together thinking I was so important hehe.

All that to say: here’s everything that’s been on my mind lately that would’ve made a great email.

Things scaring me:  This administration. I used to watch the news every day… and I don’t do that anymore to protect my mental health.

My half-marathon training. I honestly haven’t been as motivated as I was for my first one—I just want to finish. And at this point…I think I can? Come through, muscle memory lol.

Lastly, something that’s been keeping me up at night is the December issue of Vogue featuring Timothée Chalamet as the cover star. It is god-awful. I legitimately thought it was AI when I first saw it. I hate it. It terrifies me. And, fun fact, this is Anna Wintour’s last issue. This is how she chose to end her legacy? …In a galaxy far, far away. Those are cute jeans tho. ;p

Books I’m trying to read: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Okayyyy, I love the title. Then someone told me it’s loosely based on Elizabeth Taylor’s life and I was sold immediately. Elizabeth Taylor is an icon and the best track on The Life of a Showgirl. I read the first chapter and it was cute. I’ll definitely come back to it I just don’t know when, ya know?

The Midnight Library: This one is about a woman, Nora Seed, who explores infinite alternate versions of her life. The premise fascinates me. I have so many “How the hell did I end up here?” moments where I catch myself wondering what if? Do you ever think about that, lovey? Anyway, I was told to read Evelyn Hugo first, so for that reason I have not started this one yet, lol.

Music I’m listening to: Lily Allen’s West End Girl. I keep coming back to this one. The story behind this album? Wild. She went there, and yet it’s still a vibe. Standouts for me right now are “Ruminating” and “Pussy Palace.” Also—it’s Evermore season. So yes, I’m listening to a lot of that hehe.

Some future fits I’m excited about: I’ve been trying to elevate my fall/winter wardrobe lately. I just want classic, good-quality pieces that make even an everyday look feel pulled together. I’m 34 going on 35, and honestly, my style is shifting in real time. It’s kind of fun to watch. And listen—if there’s one thing about me, it’s that I’m going to support a Kardashian/Jenner venture. I’m currently obsessed with my Skims Teddy Boxy Zip Jacket in Chai, and I can’t wait to wear it on Thanksgiving. Then my little sister showed up to Wurstfest in dark denim and casually mentioned they were Khy… so obviously I copied her. I ordered some Khy sweats and an oversized faux-leather blazer. In my head: black slacks, checkered Vans, a white tank, the faux-leather blazer, and my lime-green Carhartt beanie. Too good. Stay tuned.

That’s all I have in my brain. Thank you for reading. I’m so grateful for you. Happy Thanksgiving!
